The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle

April 19th, 2007

tinyseed.jpgEric Carle’s books are always beautifully illustrated, the vibrant colours and images penetrate the stories and open people up to a different world. This story is about a tiny seed, which, after being blown from the seed pod of a flower travels through the air, over mountains, over oceans and through many obstacles to grow into a giant flower and continue the cycle.

The tiny seed is one that one might have thought wouldn’t have survived the long journey, it travels slower than the other seeds, it grows slower than the other seeds, but in this story it’s because of it’s size that it was able to avoid being eaten and avoid being strangled by weeds.

A story to read alongside Matthew 13 or Mark 4…
